Requirements for a MAJOR in Education (B.ED)

A minimum of 90 credits are required for a Major in Education, including 54 credit obtained for courses taken in oneof the following areas of specialisation: Language Arts, Curriculum, Social Studies, Testing and Measurement, Special Needs and Educational Administration.

Semester I
EDPS1001 - Introduction to Human Development
PHIL1003 - Introduction to Philosophy
FOUN1001(FD10A) - English for Academic Purposes

For students who do not possess CXC II or equivalent in a foreign language.
- FREN0101 - Beginners’ French or
- SPAN0101 - Beginners’ Spanish
- Plus one course in area of specialisation

For students who possess CXC II or equivalent in a foreign language.
- Plus two course in area of specialisation

Semester II
EDPS1005 - Introduction to Educational Psychology
EDFA1024 - Social Foundations of Education
FOUN1002 - Language Argument
or
