Donna Maynard

Donna-Maria Maynard is a Lecturer in Clinical & Counselling Psychology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She was recently awarded the Campus Research Day Award for best collaborative research (Factorial structure of depressive symptoms in an Anglophone Caribbean university student population: Psychometric properties of the Beck Depression Inventory-II.  Interamerican Journal of Psychology, 43(3), 577-585, 2009).  She most recently published a book: “Learned Helplessness in Barbadian adolescents” (2010), and has published in the Caribbean Journal of Psychology, The Journal of Psychology in Africa, British Journal of Guidance & Counselling,  Interamerican Journal of Psychology, and International Journal for the Advancement of Counselling & Development.

 

Research Interests:

Her current research interests are in treatment of anxiety disorders and depression, career self-efficacy, problem behaviours and self-esteem issues, solution-focused counselling with adolescents and young adults, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and learning disabilities.
