This page provides updates to students registered for Caribbean Studies in 2013/2014

Update: August 28, 2013

Students with Approved topics
Students whose topics were approved last semester but have not yet manually registered their topic with the Faculty Office are asked to do so by September 11, 2013.  Your registration form becomes your marksheet and MUST be submitted to the office.

Students without Approved topics
Students who missed the semester II deadlines for submitting their topics and proposals, please check your @mycavehill email for instructions. Your topic and proposals should be submitted ONLINE at by September 11, 2013.  History and Linguistics students should submit their proposals from the Research Methods class to provided they are doing the same topic.

Update: May 17, 2013
Supervisors have now been assigned.  Click to view list of Supervisors

Students should submit their proposals directly to their Supervisors by May 24, 2013.  Proposals may also be submitted here (History and Linguistics students are requested to use the outline from their Research Methods course).

Students should formally register their topic with the Faculty Office. Please visit the office to complete relevant forms. The deadline for registering your topic is May 31, 2013.


Submission of Topics

Students are required to submit their topic for departmental review and approval by the following deadline dates:

French - March 22
History - April 24
Literatures in English - May 2
Linguistics - May 2
Spanish - March 22

Once topics have been approved and your supervisors assigned, this information with be communicated to you via the email you provided.

French - March 15, 2013, 2.00 p.m., Bruce St. John Conference Room
History - April 17, 2013, 4.00 p.m., LR6, CLICO Centre for Teaching Excellence
Literatures in English - April 19, 2013, 2.00 p.m., ALT
Linguistics - April 26, 2013, 4.00 p.m., ALT
Spanish - March 15, 2013, 2.00 p.m., Bruce St. John Conference Room

Students eligible to register for HUMN3099 in 2013/2014 are asked to indicate their intention by completing the form found at (link removed)   - (THIS EXERCISE IS COMPLETED! Students who missed the opportunity for the early registration of their topics will be contacted in semester I with instruction on how to proceed.  Please have your proposed topic at hand).
