La Parábola del Edén o Confesiones de un Pecado Muy Original //
The Parable of Eden or Confessions of A Very Original Sin

The events described in the book of Genesis form the basis of this comedy about a relationship between a Man and a Woman.
Adam and Eve are deeply-rooted characters in our collective memory; they are the origin of the troubled relationship between Man and Woman. In some way, we are inheritors of the primal estrangement between the sexes and their failure to achieve a harmonious union.

At some time in our lives, all of us confront two paths that lead in opposite directions - the path of good and the path of evil - but we never suspect that all our moral decisions are part of a hidden alliance between these two deities.

You are part of this story, come and discover how the Original Sin, a product of Eve’s curiosity and Adam’s weakness, inevitably led to our cruel and fatal destiny.

This is a scripted text for the stage from the novel L’AVENTURE AMBIGUE by Cheikh Hamidou Kane. It is a philosophical reflection of the struggle of an individual who finds himself torn between two cultures.
Samba Diallo was sent at a very early age to the Islamic School where he experienced the very strict and severe discipline of the religious practice.

He was taught to divorce himself from family
and learn by rote the prayers that would make him a man in the eyes of Allah.
Having matured and having been exposed to the Western world and culture he struggles to resist the domination of the religious practice. A young female colleague, Adele, is experiencing the same moment of struggle in her life and whereas in his wisdom he tries to console her not to hate he himself finds it difficult to concede. A Muslim acolyte, who is presented as a madman ,the figure in literature who is always more sane than the sane, reacts violently to Samba’s refusal to accept. He kills him.

After death, the Angel of Mercy appears , accepts Samba’s soul and leads him on what is considered the right path. This is an allegorical discussion of Africa at the cultural crossroads, of man struggling between the dominance of two forces ,of man’s individual existence. The inner struggle is expressed symbolically by the use of a contrasting musical soundscape.

This one act play takes place in the dining room of a flat. An old professor welcomes a new student to give her a private lesson. The maid, Marie, is worried and keeps warning him. As the lesson progresses, the Professor grows more and more angry with the pupil's ignorance, and the pupil becomes more and more quiet and weak. At the climax of the play, the pupil is murdered by the professor. The play ends as a new pupil is greeted by the
maid.

El puente de los mentirosos (2004) // The Bridge of liars by Margarita Reiz
Johny is a fourteen year old boy whose mother (Maria Magdalena) gave him the “mission” of picking up her two ex husbands (Berney and Miguel) as well as her brother (Iñaki) at the airport , they come form overseas to attend Maria’s wedding
with an American millionaire. When they
meet with Johny, they are taken to Maria’s mansion to spend the night there and wait for Maria (who is not at the home) to come back. During the time they wait, we can see how each one these men recall times with Maria Magdalena and talk about their internal conflicts. Johny -who is in full control of the situation- plays with the feelings and
emotions of the visitors and by disobeying his
mother’s instructions. This leads to an unexpected ending and life-changing revelations.

The rivalry between Miguel and Berney, Iñaki’s introspection into his familiar past and Johny’s attitude towards these men and life in general make these play a very entertaining piece to see.

This two act comedy takes place in a shanty town close to Madrid, more precisely in the shack of Angustias and Calixto, a middle-age married couple that lives in abject poverty surrounded by thieves, such as Jose, and very interesting neighbours, such as Mrs.Ceferina and her daughter Adela.
Angustias is a very kind and strong woman, the breadwinner of the house. She dreams to have a little flat in Mostoles city and works hard for it.

Calixto claims to be a writer and a philosopher whose occupation for twenty years has been sitting on the couch writing “the book”. At the end of the first act, Angustias and Calixto win the lottery. However, they decide to stay in the
shanty town and help their neighbours. Their daily life is shaken when they receive the threat of evacuation.

A real state company wants to buy the land and will try by all means, i.e. Mr. Roberts, to
move all families from the shanty town. However, that company does not know the kind of people they will have to deal with…

The play, Une TempLte, published by Aimé Césaire in 1968, was written as a means of destroying the conventional depiction of good master- humble servant. By examining the conflictual relationship between Caliban, the slave, and Prospero, the master, Césaire allows us to see and examine two totally
different viewpoints of how each character sees the world. On one hand, we have the oppressed longing for freedom, and on the other, the oppressor’s quest for absolute power. While the play focuses on the hope of a black revolution, it also denounces colonialism, Western paternalism
and racial inequality, among other forms of injustice.

In the scenes that we have chosen to perform, Prospero, the former Duke of Milan, is betrayed by his brother, Antonio, and forced by means of the Roman Inquisition to flee his homeland with his daughter Miranda. After leaving Italy, they find themselves washed up on a tropical island where they encounter Ariel and Caliban, two natives, and reduce them to slavery. However, as time passes,
Prospero soon realizes that keeping a slave like Caliban is anything but smooth sailing, since he is virtually untamable.

In our version of the play we have kept the three main characters: Prospero, the white tyrant, Ariel, the passive, compliant mulatto slave, and Caliban, the rebellious black slave. We have also kept Eshu, the god-devil, whose sole job is to turn upside down the lives of every person with whom he comes
into contact.
