  • October 26-27, 2006: Senghor Colloquium: Negritude: Legacy and Present Relevance. University of the West Indies, Barbados.
  • May 22, 2006. The Cultural Studies Programme presents a Lecture entitled 'Cover Down Yuh Bucket: the Story of Sticklicking in Barbados to be delivered by Elombe Elton Mottley. 7.30 p.m., Lecture Theatre 4, UWI Cave Hill.
  • March 14-15, 2006 Cave Hill Theory Project presented by the Department of Language, Linguistics and Literature :
  • Inaugural Theory Lecture and Workshop

    The Lecture entitled "Derek Walcott's One Endeavour", will be presented by Prof. Bernard Boxill, Professor Pardue, Univ of North Carolina, Chapel Hill on Tuesday March 14 in the ALT at 8.00 p.m.

    The Workshop will be held from 2 pm on Wednesday, March 15 in the Bruce St. John Conference Room. Professor Boxill will present a paper on calypso and rap.
