Zoanne Evans has been teaching for the past 22 years, her first teaching position being a teacher’s assistant at College Pierre de Ronsard in Paris. Following this, she taught at a number of secondary schools in Barbados, starting a writers’ club at one school and a school magazine at another. An avid writer, she enjoys challenging students to develop their own writing skills as they transition to a more academic style of writing and prepare for the world of work. She currently teaches both Academic and Technical Writing here at UWI.

Ms Evans is interested in researching Barbadian writers. She seeks to bring to light forgotten writers who have made contributions to the Barbadian literary canon, while highlighting the achievements of the more well known names and the new up and coming authors.
