Marco Schaumloeffel was born in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil and studied German, Portuguese and Literature at the Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos) and Linguistics and Dialectology at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Before coming to Cave Hill in 2005, he worked for the German Goethe Institute and a Swiss School in Curitiba, Brazil (1994-2002) and as Brazilian Lecturer at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana (2003-2005). Since 2001 he is one of the five elected members in the board of the International Association of Teachers of German (IDV), which represents over 250,000 German teachers, lecturers and professors worldwide. He is IDV webmaster and editor of the periodicals “IDV-Magazin” and “IDV aktuell”.

Marco Schaumloeffel also does technical translations (English and German to Portuguese) as well as translation of novels from German into Portuguese (e.g “The White Massai” by C. Hofmann and “An exclusive love” by J. Adoriján). |
