Jeannette Allsopp is the Director of the Centre for Caribbean Lexicography and is also currently the Coordinator of Linguistics in the Department of Language, Linguistics and Literature. She is the author of the Caribbean Multilingual Dictionary of Flora, Fauna and Foods in English, French, French Creole and Spanish and published by Arawak Publications in 2003, as well as a number of articles, chapters in books and conference papers. She is also the current President of the Society for Caribbean Linguistics and the Consultant in Caribbean English for the Oxford English Dictionary, 3rd Edition, published by Oxford University Press.

Dr. Allsopp's research interests include Caribbean Lexicography, both Anglophone and Multilingual, Creole linguistics, language acquisition, Caribbean literature in English, French and Spanish, language teaching methodology, Caribbean culture. .
