The Journey of Cuban Artists returns to the EBCCI
CAFÉ is an Academic cultural project originally conceived in the year 2000 as an alternative space to explore the visual culture of Cuban artists doing their work in other countries.

CAFÉ opens on March 5, 2015 at 7:00p.m. in the Art Gallery of the EBCCI.

The first CAFÉ in Barbados was held in 2009 at the EBCCI. Now seven showings later, the exhibition returns to the space with more sojourning artists.  Participating artists are Cuban diasporic,  “heritage artists” (artists born and raised in the Diaspora), as well as artists living in the island. By the nature of its diverse conformation and its focus on shifting localities, CAFÉ is a good example of what constitutes a nation and a culture in displacement.
