Executive Director CLIC (Ag)
September 30, 2010
The Caribbean Law Institute Centre (CLIC) was established in 1994 by the University of the West Indies as a Centre within the Faculty of Law. The Centre is listed as an Associate Institution of CARICOM in the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.
Former Executive Directors of CLIC since 1994 were Prof. A. R. Carnegie (1994-2007) and Prof. Winston Anderson (2007 – June 2010).
The original intention was for CLIC to be the research arm of the Faculty of Law, focusing on legal research and publication and providing Commonwealth Caribbean governments with assistance in relation to law reform initiatives. Since its establishment, the work of the Centre has expanded to encompass training, policy analysis and formation of strategic options in relation to Corporate Law, Insurance Law, Insolvency, Environmental Law, the Criminal Justice System, Human Rights, Intellectual Property Rights, and Constitutional Law Reform.
For its human resources requirements, the Centre’s staff is complemented by the staff of the Faculty of Law and by temporary research staff, as needed.
