GIVE TO UWI
UWI has been at the heart of development of Caribbean peoples and the building of Caribbean societies for 60 years. Private contributions are vital to enable us to continue to provide a high quality higher education experience, which fuels the social and economic development of countries in the Caribbean region.
Donations from alumni, the corporate community, foundations and other philanthropic and civic minded individuals and organisations worldwide are needed to help UWI remain a competitive, world class institution and supplement the core funding from the fourteen governments in the region.
Collaboration with external partners can range from funding of scholarships, Chairs, new facilities and joint research projects. The Business Development Office can help you to structure a partnership with UWI that provides naming and other corporate recognition opportunities and ensures that you realise your giving objectives.

These documents provide more information on our fundraising priorities:
"Scotiabank lauds the University of the West Indies’ invigorated efforts to create access to education for masses of Barbadians and Eastern Caribbean citizens. Given our universal policy to help develop the lives of people wherever we live, work and conduct our business, Scotiabank Barbados’ 50th anniversary in 2006 saw the start of our single largest financial contribution to UWI. Initial funding is being channeled into the UWI’s Student Economic Empowerment Desk programme, in harmony with our own desire to facilitate the growth of an entrepreneurial class. Scotiabank therefore wishes the UWI at Cave Hill continued growth and expansion under the leadership and vision of Professor Sir Hilary Beckles."
Stephen Cozier, Managing Director Scotiabank Barbados.
