LOCATION
The Cave Hill Campus is one of the four campuses of the University of the West Indies. The Campus sits on a hill looking toward the ocean in the parish of St. Michael in the beautiful island of Barbados.
OPPORTUNITIES
The Cave Hill Campus offers a wide range of programmes in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, Social Sciences, Science and Technology (Pure and Applied Sciences), Medical Sciences and Law. The Campus has in place a number of Memoranda of Understanding with international universities which offer local students the chance to go on exchange overseas, and international students the ability to spend a semester or an academic year studying in the sun. The Campus also encourages involvement in non-academic co-curricular courses and permits students to attend the University on a full-time or part-time basis.
FACILITIES
We provide premier teaching facilities which include our new Faculty of Medical Sciences building inclusive of laboratory and lecture theatre, a complex reserved for postgraduate teaching, modern computer and laboratory equipment throughout, wireless access as well as a Main and Law Library.
In addition to placing emphasis on the academics, the Campus encourages involvement in sport. At Cave Hill exposure is provided to a wide cross section of sports - including netball, football, athletics, chess, hockey and lawn tennis. The Campus is home to a cricket ground - the 3 Ws Oval, a state-of-the art FIFA certified football field and a mini sand-based hockey Astroturf. In addition, the campus is preparing to lay the Ryan Brathwaite Athletic Track.
SO, WHY THE CAVE HILL CAMPUS?
The Cave Hill Campus provides the opportunity for a truly Caribbean cultural experience for both the residents of our Caribbean neighbouring islands and those from further afield.
We invite you to join our Cave Hill family in 2013!
