The M.Sc. in Integration Studies is an exciting programme of study which interrogates the political, economic and social complexities of regional integration projects in progress around the world while placing special emphasis on Caribbean integration and development. Integral to the programme are concentrations in international trade, international business, government and globalization that, in a changing global environment, inevitably impact on the world's regional integration projects.
The programme aims to produce individuals who possess historical perspective and up-to-date knowledge on regionalism and are able to provide insights and research expertise vital to the furtherance of regional policy development in the Caribbean and beyond.
The M.Sc. in Integration Studies aims to:
- Provide a sound understanding and critical awareness of the integration experience
in the Commonwealth Caribbean and beyond
- Provide wide ranging exposure to the development processes linked to
regional integration
- Foster a rigourous appreciation of the relationships between regionalism and
international relations, international political economy, as well as the
relationships between integration, business, government and policy
- Produce individuals who possess historical perspective and up-to-date knowledge
on regionalism and are able to provide perspectives vital to the furtherance of
regional policy development both in the Caribbean and beyond
This MSc programme is well suited to persons pursuing careers in business, politics, journalism, academics or other research fields and persons seeking to be employed with non-governmental organisations (particularly of regional scope), the Caribbean Community Secretariat and affiliated institutions/agencies, the Organisation of Eastern States Secretariat and affiliated institutions/agencies, intergovernmental organisations such as the Organisation of American States or the Commonwealth Secretariat, ministries responsible for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, International Business or Security and United Nations related organizations.
