Students can conduct supervised research for M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in many areas of the biological and chemical sciences. The Department currently has 44 postgraduate students and has recently produced graduates in:

Applied Entomology, Behavioural Ecology, Cancer Epidemiology, Environmental Chemistry & Biology, Environmental Microbiology, Fisheries Management, Marine Biology, Marine Phycology, Medical Mycology, Molecular Biology, Mycorrhizal Biology, Natural Products Chemistry, Plant Biochemistry, and Plant Pathology.
